The Family KITAS (E31) is a residence permit that can be obtained by the spouse (wife or husband) or children of Indonesian KITAS holders. It allows family members to stay in Bali, Indonesia, under the sponsorship of the primary KITAS holder. This visa offers a one-year stay, which can be extended up to five years. After extending your KITAS four times, you have the option to change your KITAS (limited stay permit) to a KITAP (permanent stay permit) for a longer stay.
The E31 index specifically applies to family members of individuals holding a working KITAS or other types of KITAS, making it an ideal choice for those looking to join their family members in Indonesia.
Foreigners can use this KITAS for
- Residing in Indonesia with the KITAS holder.
- Traveling to and from Indonesia as many times as desired.
- If the sponsor is working in Indonesia, this visa allows family members to accompany them without the need for a separate work permit.
Approved applications grant an initial stay of up to 30 days, extendable for an additional 30 days. Before applying, ensure your country is listed as eligible for Visa on Arrival.

- Scan of passport (minimum validity of 18 months)
- Latest bank statement of the foreigner/sponsor (minimum balance of USD 2000, last 3 months)
