The Family KITAS is a residence permit issued specifically to family members (such as a mother, father, or child) of a KITAS holder. A family KITAS allows the family member to live in Indonesia with the primary KITAS holder.
This permit gives you a one-year stay, which can be extended for up to five years. After renewing the KITAS four times, the holder becomes eligible to apply for a permanent residence permit (KITAP) for a longer stay in Indonesia easily.
The E31 index specifically applies to family members of individuals who hold a KITAS for work, residence, or other purposes. It is an ideal option for those who wish to reunite with their family members in Indonesia.
A Family KITAS can be used for several purposes, including:
- Living in Indonesia with the primary KITAS holder.
- Traveling in and out of Indonesia multiple times as long as the permit remains valid.
- Accompanying a working family member in Indonesia without the need for a separate work permit.
Approved applications grant an initial stay of up to 30 days, extendable for an additional 30 days. Before applying, ensure your country is listed as eligible for Visa on Arrival.
Documents Required From Applicant
- Scan of passport (minimum validity of 18 months)
- Latest bank statement of the foreigner/sponsor (minimum balance of USD 2000, last 3 months)
- Recent passport-size photograph on a red background
- Foreigner domicile scan (Surat Domisili)
- Copy of sponsor’s marriage deed
- Copy of birth certificate (if the child is under 18 years old)

- Copy of sponsor’s passport biodata
- Copy of sponsor’s last immigration documents (Vitas/Itas)
- Copy of RPTKA (if sponsored by a working KITAS)
- Copy of IMTA notification (if sponsored by a working KITAS)
- Copy of director/commissioner passport (if PMA)
- Copy of director/commissioner KITAS (if PMA)
- Color scan of one local staff ID card (KTP)
- Color scan of tax identification number card (NPWP)
- Nomor Induk Berusaha (NIB) from OSS
- Company license from OSS
- Company domicile scan (Surat Domisili/SKTU)
- Notary act of company establishment (Akta Notaris Pendirian Perusahaan)
- Legalization of notary act changes (if applicable)
- Company profile (optional)
- Company stamp (optional)
- Corporate letterhead (optional)
